Instructions for Authors of Materials China

1. Scope of submissions

This publication is intended for international and domestic Chinese materials scientists, focusing on China’s latest research results and hotspots in the field of materials science. It covers extensive collection of original research papers, literature reviews and research news with important guiding significance in materials science and engineering, especially new materials’innovative and applied research.

2. Submission process

Please visit http:// m.519788.com , and submit online. Electronic files of MS Word is acceptable. Initially, authors need to register for the "submission system", then follow the prompts for actions.

Contribution process:

submission → receival→first review → peer review→final review → editing

3. Overall requirements and considerations

Submissions must be the original works of the author(s) and has not been published elsewhere or under consideration for another publication,or a substantially similar form in any other language.The paper should be concise title, clear viewpoints, reliable data, adequate demonstration, realistic conclusions and smooth text, etc.

Manuscripts should include title, author name, abstract, keywords, categories number, body, references, funding project’s name and category (project number), as well as work units, title/degree, phone number, E-mail ,of the first author and corresponding author.

Length of the overview and research type manuscript is less than 12 000 words, that of the reporting type is no more than 800~1200 words. (Including body, appendix, figure, table, abstracts and references, and so on)

Manuscripts should have abstracts in English and Chinese (length of 300~350 characters/words), and 3~8 keywords. The abstract is required to be written in the 3rd-person, can independently generalize the full-text information: including study purpose, research methods, findings and conclusion of the study. Research methods may include the main principle, conditions, and equipment applied, etc; the conclusion may contain achievements and application outcome.

Titles generally should not be more than 20 characters, and the English title should be consistent with the Chinese one.

Figures and curves in the text should be clear, width should be within 80 mm or 170 mm accordingly; table is full three-line table in English.

Physical symbol adopts national standards, clearly indicating the capitalization and italic of foreign letters, as well as the upper and lower position. Measurement units should comply with SI units.

4. Reference formatting requirements

References only list documents that have been cited in the body, most recently and officially published. Number of references should normally not be less than 15, adopting the order system. Patterns are as follows:

5. Submission contract

Manuscript review results should be notified to the author within 15 working days, during this period, multiple contributions are forbidden. If found, manuscript shall be rejected, with notification to related journals in the field.

Once the manuscript is accepted after reviewing, authors should submit to the editorial office the confidential review form issued by their affiliation, manuscript modification description and other relevant certificates and documents. We are not responsible for confidentiality of the manuscript.

The authors take whole responsibility for the points of views in the manuscript. The editorial office has rights for standardized processing of editing and publishing the manuscript. If necessary, with consent of the author, substantive content changes can be implemented.

Once the manuscript is published, it indicates that the authors have recognized the copyright vested in the journal Materials China (including Internet copyright). When conducting exchanges or cooperation with database or index system at home or abroad, the author will no longer be consulted for views or paid with extra remuneration.

Authors need to pay the publication fee for the manuscripts, and 2 sample issues shall be presented to the author.

From January 1, 2011 on, the publication fee is RMB1000 / 3 printed pages. If exceeding the specified layout, extra cost is charged. (Fee for review of manuscript is paid by the editorial office, manuscript fee is returned to the author by means of 2 free sample issues and free online registration.)
