The various pathogenic viruses present in the environment pose a great threat to human health. Efficient and rapid virus enrichment technology is of great importance for early virus diagnosis, disease warning, prevention and control. However, current reviews on virus enrichment mostly focus on methods, with less research on materials and devices. This review elaborates on the relevant materials and devices for enriching viruses from the aspects of their charge characteristics, biochemical characteristics and size, involving coronaviruses, influenza viruses, norovirus, etc. This review introduces the potential application of nanomaterials in virus enrichment and demonstrates their effectiveness in detecting airborne viruses through examples.Meanwhile,we explore virus enrichment materials and devices based on other properties, such as methods of achieving enrichment by evaporating solvents. Finally, the technical optimization and application prospects of microfluidic chips in the field of virus enrichment are discussed, aiming to provide theoretical references for subsequent studies.
