一直以來,硬質膜層被廣泛地應用于改善金屬基體表面性能,保護其不受惡劣環境的影響,以達到延長其服役壽命的目的。但是,研究發現硬質膜層的開裂會導致韌性金屬基體的開裂,這將嚴重威脅到金屬承載結構件的安全。因而,有必要了解、認識其規律,并揭示損傷機制,為制定相應的解決方案提供依據。綜述了膜致韌性基體開裂的來源、機理以及相應的可行解決措施。脆性膜層與韌性基體的短程交互作用以及脆性膜層的開裂所提供的快速運動的裂紋是導致韌性基體低應變下脆性開裂的關鍵原因。降低硬質膜層開裂的可能性或裂紋在膜層中的運動速度以及減少膜與基體之間的不匹配,有助于減緩膜致韌性基體開裂這一現象的發生。

Brittle films (or coatings) are used to protect ductile metal substrates from damage induced by the harsh environments, thus increasing their service life. However, the fracture of brittle films can cause the cracking of ductile metal substrates, which will seriously threaten the safety of metal bearing structures. Thus, it is necessary to understand the nature of this phenomenon and build the related countermeasures. In this review, we will introduce the origin, mechanism and related countermeasures of this phenomenon “film induced cracking of substrates”. The combination of short range coatingsubstrate interaction and fracture of coating inhibit the local plastic deformation of ductile substrate near interface, causing their cleavage cracking. Lowering the mismatch between film and substrate, the fracture probability and the crack velocity in films contribute to preventing the occurrence of this phenomenon.

龐曉露:男,1981年生,北京科技大學教授、博士生導師。曾獲霍英東基金、北京市科技新星等獎勵和榮譽稱號。主要從事金屬材料表面涂層的力學行為研究,和課題組成員一起在國內外最早提出了膜致韌性基體脆性開裂理論并揭示基體開裂的機制。近五年以第一/通訊作者在該領域發表SCI論文33篇,其中TOP期刊論文共計17篇,包括Acta Materialia, Corrosion Science等;累計發表SCI論文79篇,他引1200余次,申請專利29項。
